Just a heads up: Windows version requires raylib.dll to be in the same folder as the .exe file. This can be found in the .zip download of raylib. It would be nice if you could include it as part of the download.
Also, the game crashes when I click on the music icon in the top right corner. Please fix that issue as soon as possible.
oh my god, this is what happens when I don't test on a different computer that isn't the one I developed the game...I think I had raylib.dll somewhere in the PATH and that's why the exe "worked in my machine" lol
I just pushed a new version with the dll and fixing the music crash (hopefully)! Also disabled the linux version for now because it most likely has the same issues.
Thank you very much for testing the game, I really appreciate it!
No problemo. I re-tested the game and it works fine now!
The only other issue I could think of is the gameplay: the player's bullets are a little too weak against the boss, and fire a bit too slow for my liking. But then again, that could just be skill issue on my end.
Also, it's possible to change the default music by replacing the audio file with another one with the same filename of "Battle for Extranite.mp3". I used Remilia Scarlet's theme from Touhou 6 for my copy. :)
Anyways, thanks for quickly fixing and addressing the issues!
To be completely honest I don't play bullet hell games and I don't know anyone who does, so it's true that the gameplay may need some tweaking. Thanks for the feedback!!
About the music: yeah I was too lazy to embed the assets into the executable to I left them there, that way people could use their own music or even modify the graphics :)
Turns out there's actually another bug: When the player actually defeats the boss, the game immediately restarts. I found this out by adjusting the player bullet damage and compiling the source code myself (yay!).
Hello! The video is really excellent! It is a very nice introduction for FreeBASIC. I like the video very much. On the other hand, these are interesting games which were programmed in different BASIC dialects on Itch. Perhaps you will also be interested.
